The meaning of Koha

In Māori culture, Koha symbolizes a heartfelt gift or offering. This concept is deeply rooted in values of gratitude, connection, and reciprocity. This philosophy is the foundation of my approach to therapeutic massage and bodywork. By naming my practice Koha Bodywork, I honor the values that inspire me: giving wholeheartedly while working with my clients. You’re not just receiving a massage - you’re experiencing a meaningful offering designed to bring relief, renewal, and respect to your body and mind.

  • “How do I give 10 out of 5 stars? Bella came to my house for this session, which is so helpful with my busy schedule of work and being a Dad etc. She showed up on time. Was incredibly professional. She made sure I was comfortable by checking in with me during the massage many times… loved that. Bella did 90 minutes of focused work on my right leg. Im an ex collegiate athlete and my knees are a mess. Most therapists dont do focused work like this or aren’t very good at it.. but not Bella, that was transformational. I have been dealing with a meniscus tear for about 10 months and after today’s session, I was able to do a full squat with ZERO pain. To top that… An hour later my son was running around in the backyard with our dog. The pain in my knee was gone and I decided in the moment to try to run with them. Something I haven’t done in at least 10 months…. I ran. Without pain 🥲. Amazing. Was such a cool moment for my son and I. I would highly recommend Bella. She’s already scheduled to come back in a few weeks."
